Nap Time Shenanigans

I usually put both kids down for their afternoon naps between 12:30 and 1pm. Brooklyn had already had it and so she went down before Carson. After Carson finished up his lunch we read a couple books and then I put him in bed for his nap. We have to put a gate at his door otherwise he comes out of his room non-stop. He doesn't crawl over the gate, yet, so for right now it works to keep him in his room. I came up to check on him and this is what I found the first time.

And this is what I found the second time.

This picture shows the door locks that he took off the door and threw down the hall.
As you can see he is pretty darn pleased with himself. Such a silly boy! Nap time is definitely a struggle for us, but hopefully it won't always be that way. :)

Gavin used to pretty much destroy his room when he didn't feel like napping. And since he shares a room with Adia, he would find her markers and color all over the room. I had to let him give up his nap which was a sad day for me, but I couldn't trust him alone in his room with the door shut!

Keep up the hard work- I cannot begin to tell you what a blessing it is to have 3 and 4 year olds who are trained to 'rest ' in their rooms every day. Try some books on tape or Music.
You have such a darling little family. I love peeking in on your blog.

Naptime is treasured at our house! Luckily Izzie is pretty good to go down in the afternoon. Unfortunately Tate and Emmy share a room and are constantly waking each other up, the little stinkers!

Ahhhh....this brings back such memories (not that good either:) Grady was a TERROR during his nap towards the end. I showed him a pic of what he did during naptime the other day and he laughed SO hard - it was hilarious!!

The pictures really tell the story! So frustrating! Halle was just like that and completely gave up nap-time at age 2. We opted for "quiet time" instead. Good luck!
