City Creek

We went as a family down to City Creek about a month ago and it was so much fun!  I've been there several times, but this was our first time as a family.  Both kids loved the fountains!

Of course both kids are looking at the fountains instead of the camera.  :)

Almost got everyone to look in this one.

He was smiling ear to ear walking along here touching the fountains.

Just Playing

My kids have been just cracking me up lately.  It seems like every day they get more and more creative and come up with funny things to do.  Carson and Brooklyn love playing together and always want to be wherever the other one it.  It's too cute!  Often times they shut themselves in Carson's walk-in-closet and have a grand little time playing with all the toys together.  I'm so glad they are becoming little buddies!

I had just brought in the Gatorade and Cliff bars from the car and set them down on the floor and these two decided that they were going to play with them.  They had a great time stacking the Gatorade drinks on top of the box.  Who knew that could be so much fun?!

I told Carson to go get his shoes on and I overheard him telling Mickey to hurry up because we had to go.  Then he came and showed me that he had put his shoes on Mickey and was all ready to go.

Attempting to wear Mom's flip flops around the house.  haha
One of Carson's latest obsessions is Christmas trees.  We cleaned out one of our closets which happened to have this little tree stored in it and he begged to let me keep it out.  So we did.  The next morning I came down stairs to find him decorating the tree with Easter basket string and Easter eggs.  I think we are a little confused about our holidays around here.  :)  He asks us every day if we will get the big Christmas tree out.  He can hardly wait for Christmas so we can put up the tree!

Brooklyn favorite spot is to sit on the bottom step and play.  Love those chunky thighs of hers!
Brooklyn is such a busy, busy girl!  She loves to get into drawers and cupboards.  She crawled right into the  drawer under the oven while I was cooking dinner one night.  Now it's one of her favorite things to do.

We have been building a lot of forts lately and these two love it.  Carson loves to bring all the toys in the fort with him to play and Brooklyn is just happy to be by Carson.  Love these two kids!

Brooklyn Turns One!

Where has the time gone?!  It's hard to believe that my baby is already one!  Last month we had a birthday party for Brooklyn's first birthday.  I ended up doing a rainbow themed party and even did a 6 layer cake for this little lady.-Which took me about 5 hours to do.  I was so sick of seeing that cake, after 5 hours, that I only had one bite of it.  But it was worth it to make it for my baby girl to celebrate her birthday.  After everyone had already eaten the cake it was halfway gone.  I attempted to slice off a piece for Brooklyn and as I did the whole cake tipped over off the stand onto the table!  I about died!  It was a miracle that I didn't say anything more than "shoot" as I watched my 5 plus hour cake tip over.  Despite tipping over, the cake still manage to stay together!  We did get a good laugh out of it though!  We had lots of family attend her big bash and it was so fun!  She was so spoiled!  Happy birthday my little Brooklyn bear!

The 6 layered rainbow birthday cake in all it's glory.

Opening presents.

She had lots of helpers to help her with the wrapping paper!  :)

I'm pretty sure they were more excited than she was.

Brooklyn decided to surprise us all by standing up all by herself in the middle of the room.  Such a big girl!

Eating her cake so lady-like and not making any mess.  She only picked at it for a couple minutes and then wouldn't eat anymore.  I guess she doesn't like cake.

Dax and Colton thrilled that I gave them this lollipop.
Erica playing with Carson.  He thought it was so much fun to have everyone over to play.  He talked about Brooklyn's party for days and referred to any present that she got as "Brooklyn's birthday party."
