Being a Mom

Being a mom is hard. I love being a mom to my two kids, but some days are harder than others and some days I just feel like I'm losing my mind. Anyone else ever feel that way? Or is it just me?

This little missy is growing like a weed and is chunky as can be.-Love it!
Sometimes it's nice just to snuggle up and relax.
Brooklyn is so happy and loves to give us big grins.

Although Carson is just a couple weeks shy of being two I know we have already hit the terrible twos. This kid is so full of it! He is busy as can be coming up with new things to get into or play with. We switched him from his crib to a "big boy" bed a few weeks ago and that just about did me in. Usually both of us ended up crying and frustrated. So now he starts out in the bed and if he gets out he has to sleep in the crib. Hopefully some day he will figure out that he should just stay in bed all night and all during nap time! :)

I never know what I'm going to find when I go into get him from his nap. This is his latest trick...pulling one arm out of his shirt.
I guess this is what Carson thinks the blinds should look like. Every day is a new adventure around here these days! I just can't help but laugh at some of the things he comes up with.
This is what I found when I came into his room during nap time a couple of weeks ago. He had completely taken apart his bed.
As you can see he's pretty proud of it.
Sometimes he actually sleeps during nap time wherever he randomly crashes on the floor.
The other day he fell asleep during lunch. It was so funny!
I took the kids to the fire station the other day and Carson was thrilled that they were giving out balloons. He became obsessed with this red balloon.
He insisted the balloon had to take a bath with him, eat with him, and sleep with him.

Yes being a mom is hard, but at the same time I feel so bless to be able to be a mother when I know there are many women out there that would do anything to have children. So I am grateful to have these two sweet kiddos to raise. Love you both!

He Passed!

I am late in posting this, but I still wanted to document it a bit. I have to give a big shout out to Chad for passing the Bar! He took the Bar July 26th and 27th and we finally found out at the end of September that he passed. It was a long summer for the both of us and he spent long hours studying every day and working. I knew he would pass, but it sure was a good feeling to see the official notice that he did. We are both glad to be able to be done with that and have it behind us now. I am so proud of him for all his hard work the past three years in school and then working so hard to pass the Bar. I am lucky to have such a good husband and father to our children! Love you Chadley!

Daddy and his little girl. I love that she is smiling in this picture!
I love these three! So cute!

Conference Weekend

I just love Conference weekend! I look forward to it every time! This year we jam packed every second of the weekend with conference, family, and friends.
We started off Saturday morning with our semi-annual Conference breakfast tradition. This is one of my absolute favorite things to do! I love having a good excuse to throw a little party! We had a few of our neighbors over for yummy buttermilk pancakes, eggs, muffins, and apple pie. It was delicious! We had a great time and we are lucky to have such awesome neighbors that are so much fun!
The boys: Nick, Kevin, and Chad

The girls: Susan, Jasmine, and me.
This is what Brooklyn did the whole time.
All the kiddos gathered around Susan reading a book. So cute!
That afternoon we had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Price and then Mark joined us for the second session and stayed overnight. The boys went to Priesthood session that night and I went over to a get together with a bunch of ladies in our ward. Sunday we watched conference and then headed down to Springville to see Alex and Megan. It was fun to get together with all the Burgin side of the family for dinner and to spend some time together. Megan took some cute pictures of Brooklyn while we were there. Here is one of my favorites.

My little helper

Carson has been such a little helper lately. He is constantly finding ways to help me out. For example, the other day I had folded a TON of laundry and had it all nicely folded and sitting on the couch. I ran upstairs to grab a diaper for one of the kids and came down to find all the laundry thrown right back into the laundry basket. Even though I hate folding laundry I just couldn't help but laugh. At least he didn't throw it all over the floor right. Carson also loves to help Brooklyn. I constantly find him trying to throw stuff into her crib like toy cars, clothes, blankets, and diapers as shown in the pictures below.

The other day I went into Carson's room in the morning and this is how I found him. I have no clue how he managed to get his clothes off! I couldn't stop laughing.-And Carson's looking at me wondering what in the world is so funny. I guess you just never know what a almost 2 year old is going to come up with.
I finally managed to get a picture of both of them together! It's a miracle!
This little chubby girl is weighing in at 11 lbs already and she's only a month and a half! She can already fit into 3-6 month clothes. I'm thinking she'll probably outweigh her brother by the time she is a year old at this rate. :) She is starting to smile all the time and I love it!
Leave it to Chad to come up with putting her in the laundry basket. :)
I love sneaking into Caron's bedroom at night to put his blanket over him. I just love watching him sleep because he looks so peaceful. Lately I keep finding him at this end of the crib all scrunched up and completely exhausted.
