3 Months Old

Carson turned 3 months old on February 16th. He has grown up and changed so much in the past month! It's amazing how fast time is starting to go now! It's been so much fun to see him learn how to do things like holding up his head, making cooing noises, and learning to love tummy time. I am in love with his chubby cheeks that I just can't stop kissing and his rollie pollie thunder thighs! He is much more alert now and you can tell he definitely knows his mom and dad.

Here are a few pictures of a few things he has been up to lately.

Carson tried out the Bumbo seat for the first time and loved it. He thought he was such a big boy and couldn't stop smiling.

Here's the spit up king himself enjoying a little tummy time. He is getting so good at holding his head up during tummy time and looking around.

He makes this face and squints his little eyes when he is "talking" (cooing) to you

I think this one is my favorite. Although it is poor lighting and photography by me, it captures that pure sweetness.

My heart just swells when I think about the love that I have for this little boy. Carson has brought more joy into my life than I could've ever imagined possible. So happy 3 months sweet boy!

Little Camper Fashion Show

Since it is Valentine's weekend and all I thought I would give a little shout out to my husband. There are a number of reasons why I love my husband, but one big reason is because he makes me laugh. Chad can be down right silly once you get to know him really well and I love it.-Probably because I am a bit silly myself. So for those of you who haven't had a chance to see Chad's sillier side here's your opportunity. It all started with the Young Men thinking it would be a great idea if they went on an overnight campout and went ice fishing. My first thought was that they must be crazy! I mean really...it's February in Nebraska people! Not exactly camping weather if you ask me. But I'm more of a middle of the summer camper when I'm sure I'm not going to freeze to death during the middle of the night. So Chad's been on the hunt for a bunch of winter camping gear. And thanks to my cousin Cindy, who happens to be an expert on winter camping, he was able to find a super nice sleeping bag that will keep him nice and toasty warm in the freezing cold. Along with that he purchased gloves, boots, and some coveralls.-Basically he is set for life in the winter camping department as far as I'm concerned. He came home from school today and proceeded to bring out loads of clothing items that he planned to wear. He then proceeded to try every single piece of clothing on.

Outfit number one had me laughing out loud already! Thermals, swishy pants that I don't know the name of, and boots. Yep..that's pretty hot stuff!

Outfit number two: All the same clothing with one more layer of those fabulous black stretchy pants.

Outfit number three: He is still wearing all of the items from the previous two pictures and now has pants on top of that all.

Outfit number four included all of the items above plus these one and only black farmer winter coveralls! Now I know you are all getting jealous of these babies!

Outfit number five was a slight dress down from before. Minus the jeans and coveralls and adding the oldest shirt he has combined with a beanie.

Outfit number six included a little fleece zip-up jacket.

Outfit number 7 I think he might be going for the Spiderman look here.

And last, but not least outfit number seven: I wasn't quite sure about this one at first. It looked more like a sleeping bag for his head.

This is what happens while Michelle takes a nap

On Monday afternoon Carson started coming down with a cold. So far since he's been born he hasn't been sick at all, so this was a first for us. It all started with him gasping for air like he couldn't breathe good. Which scared the crap out of me. Then by the time Chad got home from school and work he started up with this nasty, deep cough. Whenever he coughed he would cry. I just hated to seem him like that! That night was a very, very long night to say the least! Chad took the first shift of the night for a couple hours holding him upright in the rocking chair while he slept. Then I took the next 4 hours or so and I couldn't sleep a wink. First of all because I was scared that all of the sudden he might stop breathing or something and second because he was snoring like an old man (which was totally abnormal for him). So Wednesday morning we took little Carson to the doctor to get checked. He did have a cold, but luckily it wasn't RSV! That was a HUGE relief to hear that with it being peak RSV season and all! Later that day my lack of sleep completely caught up with me and I was exhausted. Chad was so sweet and sent me to take a nap while he watched Carson for me. I crashed for about 45 minutes before I woke up to what sounded like furniture being moved. Curious as to what might be going on I came out to find Carson's room looking like this.

Yes I about died when I saw my house looking like this! Amazing that he was able to make this big of mess in only 45 minutes! Serious talent I know. 10 points to the person that can find Carson in both of these pictures.

After I came out and freaked out a bit and laughed a lot I took all these pictures. Chad had moved every piece of furniture in that room from it's original position. After I took some pictures I made him put it all back because he had discovered that his grand idea of moving everything didn't quite work out as well as he had planned and the room is back to normal now thank goodness!

Here's my sweet little boy taking a nap. This cold has completely whipped him out and left him so sleepy all the time. I am happy to report though today he is feeling much better!
