Summer update

Ever since Chad's second year of law school began he has been trying to get an internship for the summer. He interviewed at multiple places and applied for what seemed like every possible job out there. Every night we would pray that he would be able to find work for the summer. With the economy being so crappy right now we weren't sure what would happen and that stressed me out big time. While I was out in Utah Chad called and told me that he got an interview with a paten firm in Omaha. As he told me this I had a peaceful feeling wash over me. The interview wasn't for another two weeks. Finally the day of the interview arrived and Chad drove up to Omaha for it. He called me on the way home to tell me about the interview and he thought it had gone pretty well overall. The told him they make a decision and let him know in a couple of weeks. More waiting! It just about killed me to wait and wonder. I had felt so good when he told me about it, but I was still a little bit nervous. Finally last Friday Chad was notified that he got the job! To say I was excited would be a major understatement. I screamed when I read the email because I was so happy. I also felt a huge amount of gratitude. I knew that all of our prayers and fasting and those who prayed and fasted for us had contributed to Chad getting the job. I feel so incredibly blessed that things worked out for the best which will allow us to stay here in Lincoln and for Chad to be able to take his MBA classes as well. So congrats Chadley on getting the job! I know the firm will be so lucky to have such a smart and hard working guy on their team. Love you!

Chad playing with Carson during dinner.
Carson loves to be apart of whatever we are doing. He is at such a fun stage and developing the cutest little personality. He continues to be such a happy baby. We set him in his bumbo on the table while we ate dinner and he thought it was pretty darn cool.
Just hanging out before we went to play group.
And last, but not least, Carson balancing on the exercise ball! Leave it to Chad to try something like this. Two days later the ball died while Chad was sitting on it. Too funny!

Big accomplishments this week

We're heading into the last couple weeks of school in Chad's second year of law school which means lots of studying until midnight at the library and getting up in the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say Chad is exhausted. I caught these two taking a nap together the other day. Too cute!
Last week my mom mentioned how she had had been canning jam. So I made up my mind that I was going to make some strawberry jam too. So I headed to Sam's Club and bought me some of these babies...And went to work. I remember helping my mom make jam growing up, but for some reason I always thought it was much harder than it actually was. It's so easy! I'm all about that! I had a fun time making it and in the end it turned out great!
Carson also had a big accomplishment this week. He rolled over for the first time! Although he hasn't figured out how to get his hands out from under him I still counted it. I was so proud of him! He did it twice in one day and then hasn't done it since. Hopefully he'll decide to do it again soon.
This kid just LOVES eating his fist!
This is his latest move when I set him down for tummy time. He sticks his butt in the air and gets his knees curled up and lays his head down to gnaw on his fist. So funny!

Easter weekend

One of my absolute favorite things to do for Easter is to dye eggs. I'm not sure exactly why I look forward to it so much since I never do anything too fancy nancy like add stickers, or glitter, etc, but I still have fun doing it anyway. We dyed eggs for our date night that Friday and had a great little time. That night we hid each others baskets and eggs. On Saturday morning we had our own mini Easter egg/Easter basket hunt in our apartment. I thought I had done such a clever job of hiding Chad's basket. It took him a while to find it, but once he did he went and re-hid it somewhere else. Then he came and told me that he couldn't find it and needed a hint. I came to help him and was shocked to find it not in it's original hiding place and found it somewhere else. What a little sneak!

I'm pretty excited about my basket chuck full of candy
Chad's pretty excited about his too
Me already picking at the candy

Why is it that the purple color always come out spotted ugly?

We got a bit carried away and had a little too much fun with the camera...
On Saturday morning we had our traditional conference breakfast. We invited a few friends over and we enjoyed yummy buttermilk pancakes smothered with homemade syrups, eggs, and fruit. It was delicious! General Conference was of course wonderful as usual. I just love that we get the chance to hear these inspiring messages from our prophet and apostles. It always reminds me that I have much to be grateful for and no matter what challenges I am facing I can always get through them with the Lord's help. All in all I would say we had a fabulous Easter weekend! Hope you did too!

Utah trip

Over Chad's spring break we took the opportunity to go to Utah. While we were there we were able to do a ton of family things. We able to go to Andy's wedding (Chad's cousin), be with Jeff to go through the temple for his mission, have family pictures, attend multiple family parties, and attend Grandma B's surprise birthday party as well. Basically we packed as much stuff in as we possibly could and went none stop. I have to say one of my favorite parts of the trip was going to the temple with Jeff. It was such a special experience to be there for him and be with all the family. Carson and me stayed an extra week in Utah and just played with family and friends. It was so great to see everyone! I did a little shopping with my favorite shopping buddy Holly, chatted until midnight with Melissa, lunched with Kristi, visited my favorite old co-workers at the Moran, hung out with my mom, saw my old young women girls, and much, much more. I LOVED IT! I totally failed in the picture taking department on this trip and only ended up with a very few photos that didn't include any of those events. Here are a few of the pictures that I did manage to take while we were there.

We got to play with cute Ethan
Having a party at Grandma B's house
Carson loved all the holding time he got!
Carson and cousin Allie were suppose to be 3 weeks apart, but they both came extra early and are only a week apart. Isn't she a doll?!

Ry wasn't to impressed with Carson at first since he couldn't walk or talk, but she later decided that he was pretty fun and as you can see from the picture Carson thought she was pretty cool stuff.
I got to see these two cute boys a few times. They are so funny!

Carson with aunt Randee
While hanging out at Trav and Amanda's place we decided to make good old muddy buddies. Love those things!
Carson got to be babysat by aunt Amanda
Rockin' out by himself at Trav and Amanda's. He thought he was such a big boy rocking all by himself.
Took some good naps with his Papa.
Got lots, and lots of loves from his Magah
And even sported his Husker jammies while in Utah.

4 Months

Carson turned 4 months old last month while we were in Utah. (yep, I'm behind on blogging this) Better late than never right? Anyway, since we were in Utah we didn't go to the doctor until the very end of the month. So here are his 4 month stats:

Height: 26 inches 75th percentile
Head: 16 inches 40th percentile
Weight: 15 pounds 60th percentile

So in the last 2 months he's grown 3 more inches and gained 5 pounds! What a tall chunk he is! I am happy that he is healthy and growing like a weed. Here are a few of his current favorite things to do:

-Loves, loves, loves to chew on his hands, fingers, or anything else he can fit in his mouth. (pretty sure this kid will have teeth any day now)
- Starting laughing this month and it's pretty much the cutest thing ever! He gets the giggles when I play peek-a-boo with him or talk to him and make funny faces.
- Has become an expert at grabbing things...especially my hair.
-Loves his glow worm toy that my mom got him for Christmas. For some reason it just fascinates him.
-Had his first airplane ride this month and handled it like a champ. Didn't even cry once!
-Loves to go on walks in his stroller with me. Rocks him right to sleep every time.
-Hasn't yet rolled over, but rolls to his side constantly. So he's getting really close!
-Continues to be such a happy baby and loves to give out smiles.
