Chad's talented cousin, Amy, took these pictures for us at our family reunion just a couple of weeks ago. Since it was done spur of the moment we are not in coordinated outfits, we are dirty and sweaty too, but I just love how they turned out! She did an amazing job! I'm so glad to finally have some updated family photos!

Surprise Weekend!
A few weeks ago I got to go on a little surprise stay-cation with my good friend Susan for her birthday. It was seriously one of the best weekends ever! So much fun! I wrote about all the details because I didn't want to forget about all the fun.
Me with my beautiful flowers and sweet card.
The birthday girl with her huge bouquet of flowers.
Shopping at City Creek
View from our hotel room. I could see Chad's work from our room.
Seriously this bouquet was so huge and beautiful!
Back from our morning run up by Memory Grove.
Susan rocking her cute pink Nike's.
Missing the $2 I had stuffed into my shoes before we went running. Not sure where in the world it went.
This was my favorite at the sidewalk chalk art festival at the Gateway.
Stopping for ice cream after we hit the all.
Susan and me at the Gateway.
Me attempting to hold all the flowers as we drove home.

Law School Friends
A few weeks ago we got the chance to get together with a few of our good friends from law school. We had a BBQ and were able to chat and catch up on things while the kids all played in the backyard together. Our friends were like our family out in Nebraska. We did pretty much everything together out there. We were so lucky to be able to have such wonderful friends! It was really hard to leave them when we moved to Utah and so it was really fun to see everyone and catch up again. We had such a great time!
All the kiddos together! Carson, Brooklyn, Akoy, Lilly, Lydia, Michael, Avery, Luke, and Camden. It was so funny trying to get the kids all to look for a picture. We took tons, and there isn't one picture where all the kids are all looking.
The boys. Bryson, Ariel, Jase, Chad, and Cade.
All the girls! Mickelle, me, Sarah, Dayna, and Aly. Love these girls!

Sandbox Love
Chad came home the other day with a Rubbermaid and a bag of sand. He wanted to surprise Carson with his own mini sandbox. Carson is in love with playing in his new sandbox. Pretty much any day that's had good weather we have spent time outside playing in it. He loves driving around his dump trucks and bulldozers through the sand and making sand castles. Hours of fun in one little box!
Brooklyn usually happily plays on the grass with her toys and sippy cup. We are all so jealous of her gorgeous olive skin. She's already tanner than the rest of us. So lucky!

Sleep, aging, and breakfast with friends
Sleep is something that we have been severely lacking around here lately. Both of my kids apparently decided that sleeping at night wasn't a necessity for them.-Unfortunately, it is still a necessity for me and I've been a bit of a grump. Two nights ago Carson was up the first half of the night crying out about every 20 minutes. Brooklyn then was up the second half of the night doing the same thing. Last night they switched things up a bit and Brooklyn was up the first few hours and Carson was up for the next few. It's after 9 o'clock now and Carson is still not asleep (even though he was put to bed at 7). I am exhausted and so are they. I wish they would realize how great sleeping really is. Maybe one day. Hopefully that day comes soon!
Monday morning I was going about doing my usual morning exercises before I hit up the gym. I was doing a cardo/strength circuit that included doing some jumping jacks. As I was doing my jumping jacks all of the sudden something went out of place in my back.-How old am I?! I felt about 80 years old not being able to do a simple jumping jack without hurting my back! Sheesh! Anyway, I went to the chiropractor on Tuesday and that helped, but then the pain started to radiate into my shoulder and arm. Hopefully my trip to the chiropractor today will help that and I will be able to get back to normal again.
Carson is starting to really get into playing pretend and I love it. This picture was taken a couple months ago and I forgot to post about it. He insisted that Bear and Mickey both sit at the table with him for breakfast. Sometimes he'll say things like "Mickey wants a drink" or "Bear wants a snack" and will pretend to have them eat it. It's so fun to see his little imagination at work!

Garages
Carson frequently perches on our couch and looks out our front windows several times a day. Today he was watching the rain. He's glued to the window, as you can see. But usually he is watching our neighbor's houses hoping that he will get to see their garage doors open. Yes, my child is OBSESSED with garage doors. I have no idea why he is so fascinated with them, but he just loves them. He talks about opening and closing the garage all the time, watches from the window to see our neighbors opening or closing their garage, pretends his toy silo is a garage to park his cars in, etc. One of his favorite things to do is to push the button to close the garage. He pushes the button and then his head jerks around quickly to see the door go down, all the while having a big grin on his face. He loves it! I have no clue what got him so interested in garages, but he thinks they are the greatest thing! It's a pretty random and funny obsession.-Cracks me up! It's so fun to see the different things he's become interested in as he's grown up. Maybe he has a mind like his Dad and is intrigued by how the garage works or something. Who knows. All I know is that he loves them and it makes him happy.

April updates
I was trying to upload a cute video of the kids playing together, but blogger would not have it. So here are just a few pictures I've snapped of the kiddos lately. I've been a major slacker about taking my camera out with us on outings lately. Maybe I just need an Iphone. :) We have loved the warm weather sunshine days that we've had. We've spent lots of time out at the park already. Bring on the spring weather!
Carson being full of mischief.
Brooklyn loves eat everything. Carson likes to hand her different toys...all of which end up in her mouth.
Carson is really into bubble baths lately. Which is good because he gets all stinky and sweaty running around at the park and the bubble baths make him smell much better!
She is growing up so fast! Such a happy little lady!
And again eating toys. Love these two kiddos!
