Martin's Hillside Orchard

Last Friday a few of us convinced our hubby's to leave school a little early and come join us for a little trip to go pumpkin picking. We all headed up to Ceresco, which is little town just 15 minutes north of Lincoln. We had a perfect day to go pumpkin picking! The weather was great! We had such a fun time there! They had a corn maze, apple orchard, butterfly garden, John Deere bikes, apple treats, and of course the pumpkin patch.

The kiddos were hilarious! Parker patting Carson's head saying "I don't want this here anymore." haha Too funny!

Conference Weekend

It's that time of year again that General Conference rolls around and I just love it! I always look forward to having our traditional conference breakfast and inviting some friends to join us. This time we had quite the spread, complete with pancakes, two different homemade syrups, two types of sausages, bacon, eggs, and fruit. Seriously it was delicious! We had a great time hanging out with our friends and enjoying the yummy food! We have been so lucky to be able to meet so many wonderful people out here and have made such great friends. Just thinking about leaving Lincoln this spring after Chad graduates makes me sad to move away from all of our friends. We just love all our friends here who have made being out here so much fun!

After the breakfast we watched General Conference, which was wonderful as usual. I just love being able to hear from President Monson and the other apostles. Between sessions on Saturday me and a couple of friends went to a neighborhood near by that was having yard sales. We had a great time finding good deals and walking around in the nice weather! Can I just tell you how much I LOVE getting a good deal on something! Seriously it makes my day! There's nothing better than walking out with a load of good things that you spent less than 10 bucks for. Carson is the main person that benefits from my bargain shopping sprees and as far as I can tell he is loving all the treasures I bring home. :)

The Mellor's

The Johnson's

The Ellis's. Got to love Parker hiding his eyes. haha

My mom sent Carson these cute pajamas. Aren't they so stinkin' cute?!

I try to make sure and take a picture of Carson and I together at least once a month....usually the pictures end up looking something like this. Maybe one day we'll get a good picture of both of us. :)

Friend Visits

Sometimes blogger can be really frustrating when it comes to uploading pictures. I had many more pictures that I tried several times to upload, but every time it would come up with some error. Lame! So this is as good as it's going to get for this post.

I always love it when one of my friends comes to visit. So fun! My cute friend Kristi came to visit last week. I have known Kristi for a long time and she lives just two doors down from my parents. She is a SUPER busy girl getting her masters in nursing, teaching clinicals and working at the hospital. Needless to say it was an extra special treat that she took some time off to come visit us out here in Nebraska!

She arrived on Thursday and since the weather was kind of crappy we just hung out at home. Saturday we ventured out and I took her to the Sunken Gardens. I always love going there and it is so pretty. We had a great little time playing around and taking funny pictures.

Somehow I managed to get this great shot of this butterfly. So cool!

And no visit to Nebraska would be complete without a trip to the Winter Quarter's temple and visitor center. I'm losing track of how many times I've taken the tour there. I've probably been enough times by now to give the tour myself. :)
Carson just chillin' at the temple. We had a great time hanging out with Kristi for the weekend! Thanks Kristi for coming out to visit!

10 Months!

My little man turned 10 months old last week! Carson has reached some exciting new milestones recently. Last month he officially mastered crawling and now is crawling all over the place. He loves his new found mobility and freedom to explore. He gets so excited when he escapes down the hall that he just giggles like crazy. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever! Little moments like that make me feel so grateful that I get to be a stay-at-home mom. He's also discovered how to climb stairs. We don't have any stairs in our little apartment, but the other day at a friend's house he found their stairs and knew right what to do. Discovering the stairs of course got Carson very excited and again there was lots more giggling. Love it! Any of you who have ever met Carson or even seen a picture of Carson know that he is quite the little drool monster. He's been drooling none stop since he was 4 months old. I thought he'd been an early teether for sure with that much drooling, but boy was I wrong. Here we are at 10 months and he is just finally getting one little tooth beginning to break through. Wahoo! We went to the doctor this Monday and Carson had another ear infection. This is his 6th one. We opted to have the antibiotic shots before going straight to tubes. 4 trips to the doctor this week and 3 shots later we are keeping our fingers crossed that these shots work.

Here are some more things about Carson lately:

- Loves to babble and says mama, dadda, and babba (hearing him say mama just melts my heart)
- Loves to play in his crib during nap time and throws his binkis out of the crib at least once or twice before finally going to sleep. (Needless to say we've lost many binkis because of this)
-Finally decided he likes food after all and doesn't like baby food any more. Some of his favorites include pancakes, bread, muffins, burritos, yogurt, potatoes, french toast, cherrios, graham crackers, and animal crackers.
-Loves being around other kids and thinks they're so funny.
-Busy, busy, busy. Doesn't like to hold still for very long...too many new things to check out and discover I guess.
- Is tall and skinny. At his last doctor's appointment we found out he is only in the 4th percentile for his age. Maybe he's got a bit of Chad's genes. :)
- Figured out how to click his tongue and does it randomly throughout the day.
- Loves paddy cake and singing songs

Carson loves to dump out all his toys
Our good friend let us borrow her johnny jumper. Carson has turned into a jumping machine.
This is his favorite shelf to clean off multiple times a day. See how pleased he is. :)
Plays and plays in his crib at nap time until he ultimately ends up just crashing in the funniest positions due to pure exhaustion.
Playing with the matryoshka dolls on his favorite shelf.
He loves picking up this canister and yelling into it to hear the echo. So cute!
Continues to be such a happy boy full of smiles!
Chad has fun finding random things do with Carson...this time was putting him in a box.

Recent Discoveries

Carson has discovered a few new things recently. Just yesterday he spent 45 minutes figuring out how to do this (when he was suppose to be napping.)

He was so excited about his new accomplishment and thought it was so fun to be able to stand up in his crib. He also figured out how to sit himself up. Needless to say the crib was lowered soon after his discovery. :)

Chad discovered how funny Carson looks wearing his winter boots.
Of course this discovery happened while Chad was babysitting.-Hence the mess. haha
Carson has been doing the army crawl for some time now, but now he is so close to crawling up on all fours! He usually gets into position and rocks back and forth and moves once or twice and then resorts back to the army crawl knowing that he can get to things much faster that way.
Playing with his favorite toy (beads) under the dishwasher.
And this picture because I think he is so darn cute!

1st Haircut!

We gave Carson his first haircut the other day. It's hard to believe that he is old enough to need a haircut! He was so good and sat very still while he looked at us with this look like "What is going on here?" It was so cute!
